Litsooi at'eed

this is my Tlingit intro with my Navajo name.

Egale and Raven

up above the rest in the sky
leader of them all

Raven

Dark and black a bird
a creature so beautiful
so magnificent

Mount Roberts

This is Mount Roberts. We climbed the trail and went to the top where the tram is at. We also did a math trail for a short time. It started to rain like crazy, but I felt accomplished for being able to hike up the trail and to see that so many people could do it.

Scar rock

Scar rock on taku inlet in Juneau, Alaska. We saw killer whales there it was something to see. Seeing killer whales is always special, you always say thank you for what you had seen. That is how it is in Tlingit culture. What I felt like then is that I felt a part of something so pure and seeing nature in it's truest form.

The seal

Yesterday we went down to auke rec. When we got down it was windy and the water was like calling out for something that was taken. We then gather around to see the seals that were taken from the sea and brought to us. After hearing a few words we then dissected the seal. I watched seeing what they truly were.

The Seal
As the sun beamed down,
the crowd around the poor thing,
with the wind blowing in sorrow,
the waves crashing, asking
for what has been taken from them,
calling in awe singing for what was taken,
for what will be returned

Knowing what we know

A life in which we know
Wind that so low it becomes
so high in only a matter of time.

A life so low can become
higher than all.

one thing that is everywhere
is also hidden.

life in all is something that
we all know, knowing and not knowing.

Why I wrote this was what the class is about I like to write whenever I feel something or hear something it helps to write a poem. what happened in class was that I was listening to the teacher speaking telling a story a great story. So I wanted to write a poem that i though was a good thing to do.
